Eduard 7428 Avia B.534 4.série

Avia B.534 4.série

By: Eduard

Scale: 1/72

Item no: 7428 Price: €12.75

Eduard’s 1/72 Avia fighters are a delight to build, and this Weekend release features the closed-cockpit variant of the B.534, introduced on the Series-IV airframes…and was the last to be fitted with just four machine guns. Compared to the earlier Series-III boxing (7429), the sole difference is the replacement of Runner D with Runner B, which supplies the correct fuselage, cowling and cockpit for the later type. The remaining three frames (including one for transparencies) remain unchanged, and supply a busy interior, thanks to the combined framework/sidewall components. However, where Eduard really excels is the exterior, notably in replicating the fabric covered surfaces so well, and these exhibit a delicate scalloping, rather than the somewhat over-done approach adopted by other manufacturers. Despite having a fixed undercarriage, options are presented for spatted/unspatted wheels, along with a choice of up to six small bombs under the wings. The canopy is crystal clear, and can be posed open/closed. Full rigging and wing-bracing diagrams are included for those wanting to add that extra refinement. Two schemes are catered for on the decal sheet; the colours are well defined and of sufficient opacity to prevent underlying tones being visible:

White A12, 40th Flight, Air Regiment No.4, Czechoslovakian Air Force, Prague-Kbely, April 1938

Dogan No.31, 2/2 Orlyak, Vrazhdebna Airfield, Bulgaria, November 1944
