Not content with combining two sets and offering merely great value, ICM has gone one further, adding a gunner and loader figure to its splendid Maxim machine gun, along with a single styrene runner from its World War One Russian Infantry Equipment set.
Best of all, this package retails for £8.50, which is the price of the basic gun, so effectively the figures and extra weapons are free! In total, there are four styrene runners, each busy with finely moulded components; as always, the poses are convincing, and capture the posture of a seated gunner and his kneeling loader faithfully, even down to the latter holding the ammunition box corner while feeding the rounds into the gun.
The Maxim is depicted on a tripod, but retains the two small carriage wheels used when troops moved it around the battlefield. As a final touch, the figures are furnished with equipment from the Infantry set, which includes a full breakdown of the individual items, from Mosin rifles to Bebut daggers and Zelinsky gas mask cases. Most of these are unused, which guarantees heaps of spares for other projects. More on this and other ICM products is at: www.icm.com.ua
