Gargantuan Ganef

Aircraft beware! Trumpeter’s fearsome 1/35 SA-4 Ganef surface-to-air missile system features in an eight-page build article by Cristian Lupu, who shows how to get the best results from this imposing kit.

While Airfix’s 1/72 Victor K.2 stars on the cover, it’s accompanied by a build and history feature focussing on the 1982 Falklands War. There’s more of an anti-aircraft theme with Steve Abbey’s superb rendition of Italeri’s 1/35 Sd.Kfz.3b Maultier with Flak 38, while the air balance is restored thanks to builds of Fine Molds’ 1/48 A5M4 Claude, Fly’s 1/144 DC-9 and Eduard’s 1/48 Spitfire Mk.VIII. Rounding out this month’s articles is a cracking feature on the Aero Vodochody L-39 Albatros, giving readers an overview of the type’s history, along with Anders Isaksson’s wonderful build of Eduard’s 1/72 Weekend kit as an Algerian L-39ZA.

With 16 extra pages, and a FREE Pocketbond product catalogue, October’s AMW is a great value buy, packed with builds, news and reviews of all your favourite subjects.

The magazine is available from www.airfixmodelworld.com, and if you subscribe it’s available before it goes on sale in the shops. For more details on Trumpeter’s SA-4 Ganef/Krug, visit: www.pocketbond.co.uk
