Sea Fury FB.11
Item no: BIG49193 Price: €59.95
Whether one has Airfix’s initial boxing of the 1/48 Sea Fury FB.11 (A06105) or is waiting for the export version (A06106), Eduard’s comprehensive photo-etched (PE) brass/metal and pre-cut masks package offers plenty. It comprises five products (also available separately):
49878 Sea Fury FB.11 interior
This two-fret set concentrates on the kit’s cockpit, replacing the instrument panel and side consoles, plus adding detail to the sidewalls, rudder pedals, rear bulkhead and canopy coaming.
48944 Sea Fury FB.11 landing flaps
Modellers wanting to portray their Sea Fury just after landing need look no further than this magnificent PE brass offering, which provides upper and lower flap components/interiors. This is definitely for the more experienced builder, due to the amount of careful folding needed to assemble the parts.
48946 Sea Fury FB.11 exterior
Eduard supplies a wealth of detail for the undercarriage bays/landing gear, wing-mounted radiators, wing-folding mechanism and weapons on two large PE frets. Airframe fittings, such as access steps and shell case chutes are also supplied, and will improve the appearance of the airframe considerably.
EX573 Sea Fury FB.11 Canopy/wheel mask
Self-adhesive pre-cut masks may seem de rigueur these days, but Eduard manages to find yet more to aid modellers during painting. In addition to the standard canopy and wheel covers, there are also items for the wingtip navigation/formation lights.
FE879 Sea Fury FB.11 seatbelts (steel)
These pre-painted straps will transform the appearance of the pilot’s seat, requiring just minor bending/twisting to replicate a real harness, but be careful not to overdo it, as this may cause the paint to lift from the metal.
While initially it may appear expensive, it’s €25 cheaper than the separate products, and will make a huge difference to the finished model, so it’s ideal for those seeking extra detail and refinement. Eduard’s products are available at: www.eduard.com
