Beachhead Artillery Support

RMASG Centaurs in Normandy
By: Star Decals
Scale: 1/72
Item no: 72-A1015 Price: $8
Web: www.star-decals.net

The Royal Marines Armoured Support Group (RMASG) may have had a brief existence during World War Two, but it’s compass-marked Centaurs and Shermans have captured the imagination of many modellers. Unfortunately, there are no Centaur kits available in 1/72 scale, so the most likely route will be via Revell’s Cromwell IV and a Dan Taylor conversion set. Schemes are supplied for six Olive Drab/Khaki Brown tanks, and depict pre-and post-D-Day machines, although all feature the distinctive turret bearing angle markings. The options are:

T185082 ‘Hood’, 2 Battery, 1st RM Armoured Support Regiment, Tilly-sur-Soulles, Normandy, June 13, 1944
T185075 ‘Seawolf’, 5 Independent Armoured Support Battery, RMASG, England, April 29, 1944
T185096 ‘Assegai’, A Troop, 1 Battery, RMASG, 1944
T184363 ‘Hunter’, 2 Independent Armoured Support Battery, RMASG, Tilly-sur-Soulles, Normandy, June 13, 1944
T185084 ‘Achilles’ A Troop, 1 Battery, RMASG, 1944
T185102 ‘Vidette’, 5 Independent Armoured Support Battery, RMASG
