AFV Club has announced a newly tooled 1/350 World War Two-era US Navy LST-1 Class (Type II) Landing Ship Tank (SE73515), which is bound to be a popular subject with the upcoming 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings. The kit will include six Landing Craft, Vehicle Personnels and a full complement of anti-aircraft guns, along with the option for open/closed bow doors and raised lowered ramp.
There’s also a US Landing Vehicle Set (SE73516) in the same scale, which offers examples of the M4 Sherman, M3 Scout Car, LVT (Landing Vehicle Tracked), Design Utility All-Wheel Drive Dual Tandem rear axle (DUKW), 105mm M2A1 Howitzer, Willys MB, Dodge WC53 Ambulance and GMC CCKW 353 truck to populate the LST and surrounding beachhead.
Turning to more modern fare, AFV Club has re-worked its excellent 1/48 F-5E kit to produce the indigenous Iranian twin-tailed Saeqeh-80 (Thunderbolt) in Islamic Republic of Iran markings (AR48111). It incorporates the correct fin configuration, and offers the smart pseudo-Blue Angels livery noted on several in-service airframes.
