Fantasy Galore!

SCI-FI SPECIALIST Fantastic Plastic has announced the return of two classic kits to its Virtual Museum range, the Flash Gordon Rocketship and James Bond SPECTRE ‘Bird One’.

It’s hard to imagine 1930s sci-fi withouth the serial films depicting heroes such as Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon, and Fantastic Plastic has made its delightful 1/72 resin rocket ship available once more. With less than 30 parts, this is intended for the more experienced modeller and is priced at US$85 plus postage and packing.

Similarly, James Bond films are renowned for their ocasionally outlandish and futirstic subjects, none more so than the spacecraft-grabbing ‘Bird One’ from the 1967 film You Only Live Twice, starring Sean Connery, Donald Pleasance and Akiko Wakabayashi.  The resin kit replicates SPECTRE’s sinister creation faithfully, and is also 1/72 scale, standing 20in (51cm) tall when completed and includes a Soviet space capsule ‘victim’, although modellers could substitute a Horizon Models Mercury capsule to replicate the film’s opening sequence. It’s on sale now at US$100.

Both kits are available direct from:
